There is a Christian Camp near Cobbitty that can accommodate 209 people, plus there are many motels, hotels and Airbnbs within a 20-minute drive. We suggest we use the Camp as our base for our long weekend family reunion celebrations.

We are planning a full weekend of celebrations from Friday afternoon 23rd April to Tuesday morning 27th April 2038. Can you come to all or part?

Our main celebration will be on Saturday, 24th April 2038, starting at 9am.

Check out our proposed program here.

For those who can arrive on Friday, 23rd April 2038, check-in is after 2pm.

Dinner is at 6pm for anyone at camp or staying in the area. If you are not staying at the camp but would like to come for dinner, please RSVP for catering purposes.

During the day on Saturday, 24th April 2038, the opportunity will be given for descendants of each of Tom & Sarah’s 13 children, to share 20-minute presentations about their line of the Old Tom Brown family. Being the ANZAC Day long weekend, on Sunday morning 25th April 2038, we plan to have our own ANZAC service, remembering those in our vast family who have served in the military. During the service, family members can share a 1-2 minute presentation stating their beloved’s name, rank, tours, short stories, etc. Please contact us to send photos of your beloved in their military uniform to add to our ANZAC Day powerpoint presentation.

On Monday morning, 26th April 2038, we are planning to head out to Dalton (about 2:15 hrs’ drive south-west of Cobbitty) to see where Old Tom & Sarah lived and ministered in the second-half of the nineteen century.

Attire: Comfortable

Activities at Dalton will include:

  • A service in the Wesley Vale Methodist Church (founded by Old Tom and friends) now known as Dalton Uniting Church.
  • Visiting the Dalton Cemetery – where Brown names dominate the headstones
  • BBQ Lunch at the Dalton Cricket Grounds (or if inclement weather, at the Royal Dalton Hotel).
  • Visiting Tom & Sarah’s old farm “Oak Park” and the memorial cairn in their honour
  • Seeing “Old Tom Brown’s Tree” where he preached the Gospel

Then driving back to Cobbitty for dinner around 7pm.

For those of us who are still in Cobbitty, we will need to have breakfast, pray, and depart by 9am on Tuesday morning, 27th April 2038.

We look forward to staying in touch. Thank you!

Help us find other Descendants!

We believe that there could be over 9,000 descendants of Old Tom & Sarah. Can you help us find the others? Please share this website and our contact details.

Thank you!!
